General rules for all students in 2017 Essay Contest
1). One entry per student. 

2). Essay must reflect the contest theme (topic)

3). If you decide to send your essay by USPS mail, Email or, If you decide to drop the essay off in person we will need a letter from your parent / guardian stating that you have their permission to participate in this essay contest. The permission letter need to include your parents / guardian name and phone number. This letter needs to be included at the time that you submit your essay. 
Essays turned in without parents/guardian permission letters attached to the essay will be disqualified from the essay contest. 


Essay contest rules for Middle School (Grades 5th - 8th)
Essays must be between for 250 - 500 words. Essays over 500 words will be disqualified. 

Essay contest rules for High School students (Grades 9th-12th)
Essay must be between 500 - 700 words. Essays over 750 words will be disqualified.



Criteria for judging the Essay Contest
Entries will be judged according to grade levels.
All entries must follow the theme of the contest. 

Consideration will also be given for the following:
1). Essay must reflect the contest theme 
2). Essay must address the contest theme
3). Essay must be between 250 - 500 words for students in 6th-8th grade
4). Essay must be between 500 -750 words for students in 9th-12th grade
5). Essays over the limits will be disqualified
6). Originality - A different and creative opinion
7). Composition - A command of the language 
8). Interpretation of theme - A compelling view of what the theme means to the student

Judges 
A panel of judges will decide the winning essay and select a first, second and third place winner for both essay competitions. Presentation of winners will take place during a meeting.
Winners will receive all cash prizes at the meeting.


Winner Notification:
Winners will be notified via certified US Mail by August 4, 2017.

Contest Deadline      
All essayists submitting an entry must deliver finished work by 4 choices: 
1). You can email your essay to essaycontest@taxbosssolutions.com 

2). You can mail your essay to 2555 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy, Suite A, Atlanta, Georgia 30318.

3). You can drop the essay at the office please call us ahead of time for an appointment to make sure we are available to assist you with any questions pertaining to the essay contest.  

4).  You can fill out the form below completely there is a space on the form for you to type your essay (make sure you hit the send button) Please make sure the  parent/guardian name and phone number is filled out on the form.

Faxed essays will not be accepted

We will start accepting essays Monday, May 15, 2017.     
   
All essays must be turned in no later than Friday, July 28, 2017 by 5:00pm.      

Mail entries must be received or postmarked on or before midnight Friday, July 28, 2017.
